How to reset BDS 2006 registration?
Answer/Solution:
BDS 2006 registration can be reset by navigating to the user's home directory (C:\Documents and Settings\username) and doing the following:
(1)
Rename (or delete) the .borland directory.
(2)
Rename (or delete) the .1234567890123.slip file (this may not be the exact filename). The numbers in the name of this file will vary, but the format will be the same and it will have a .slip extension.
(3)
Rename (or delete) the .bmc60 directory (this may not be the exact directory name). This one is a little trickier, as the name of the directory you want to rename is almost completely randomly generated. However, it is always a directory whose name starts with a period, and it should contain around five alphanumeric characters. If you are unsure, check the timestamp of the directory to see if it was created when you installed BDS 2006.
After all of the above has been carried out, BDS 2006 can be re-registered. Failure to remove any one of these three components will result in registration woes.
