Abstract: JBuilder 2007 Silent Installation

Here are instructions on how to create a silent installation for JBuilder 2007:

1. Create a text file on your hard disk, for example, installer.properties.

2. Edit the file with a text editor and add the following lines:

USER_INSTALL_DIR=c:$/$javadev$/$JBuilder2007silent

# /$/ represents a directory separator

INSTALLER_UI=silent

#This option defines the Start Menu location - in this case it will be made available for all users

USER_SHORTCUTS=c:$/$Documents and Settings$/$All Users$/$Start Menu$/$Programs$/$JBuilder 2007 (Silent Edition)

#Uncomment the option below if you want to install Apache Geronimo

#SERVER_RESULTS_1=1

#Uncomment the option below if you want to install Apache Tomcat

#SERVER_RESULTS_2=1

#Uncomment the option below if you want to install JBoss 4.0.5GA

#SERVER_RESULTS_3=1

#Uncomment the option below if you want to install Glassfish

#SERVER_RESULTS_4=1

#Uncomment the option below if you want to install Project Assist

#USER_INPUT_RESULTS_1=1

3. Open a command prompt and navigate to D:\Disk1\InstData\VM (substitute D: if this is not your DVD drive letter) and run:

jbinstall -f c:\jb2007inst\installer.properties

Some of the above options are only available in certain versions. The above file would be used to silently install JBuilder 2007 Enterprise. For JBuilder Professional and Developer, the following options are available:

SERVER_RESULTS_1=1 will install Apache Tomcat and

SERVER_RESULTS_2=1 will install JBoss
