IBConsole shows the error "Cannot attach to services manager"

Description:

This article shows how to workaround the "Cannot attach to services manager" when using IBConsole�2007 to connect to a local InterBase 2007 server.�

Resolution:

1. From the IBConsole 2007 menu, click on Server, Add...
2. In the Add Server and Connect dialog, set the following properties:
   1. Select Remote Server.
   2. Set the Server Name to: 127.0.0.1
   3. Set�the Alias Name to: Local Server by IP
   4. Enter the User Name and Password in the Login Information
   5. Click Ok.

You should now be able to connect to your local server.
