Multinstance install use TAR requires the server to not already be running

To perform a tar based install on Linux or Solaris with InterBase 7.5.1, execute either /tar/linux/setup or /tar/solaris/setup on your InterBase 7.5.1 CD. This install will allow you to do a multinstance install, but only if the InterBase server is not already running. If the server is already running the following error appears:

An instance of InterBase Super Server seems to be running.
Please quit all interbase applications, shutdown the Interbase
server and then proceed.
